See where a short link goes without going there
Short links from bit.ly, t.co, tinyurl.com and others hide their destination, and opening one tells the link's owner your IP address, browser and when you clicked. The expander asks our server to follow the link instead and shows each step, so you can decide whether to open it.
What you see
- Every redirect along the way, with its status code.
- Pages that send you on with a timed refresh or a simple script redirect.
- The final address, with tracking tags like
utm_sourceandfbclidremoved. - The final page's title, when it has one.
Questions
Do you keep the links I check?
No. The address isn't logged. The result is cached for 30 minutes under a scrambled key so repeat checks are fast, then removed.
The result stops at a login or "are you human" page.
Some services only redirect real browsers, or hide the destination behind JavaScript. The last step shown is as far as a server can see.
Can it reach addresses on my own network?
No. Private and local addresses are blocked on purpose.
