Inspect the metadata without joining the swarm
A torrent file lists tracker URLs and file information. Some private trackers put an account passkey in a URL. This inspector reads the bencoded file locally and lists trackers, possible credentials, the private flag, file paths, web seeds and DHT bootstrap nodes.
The torrent remains unchanged
The inspector does not contact trackers or peers and does not modify the torrent or its info dictionary. It computes a SHA-1 digest from the original info bytes for v1 torrents. A v2 torrent uses a different hash format; a displayed SHA-1 digest is not its v2 info hash.
Passkey detection is a pattern check. A URL without a warning can still hold a credential. Downloaded reports contain the listed URLs and paths, so inspect the report before sharing it too.
Parser limits
Files are limited to 16 MiB, with bounded nesting and item counts. Malformed data, duplicate or unordered dictionary keys and unsupported text encodings are rejected. Reading torrent metadata does not establish whether its files are safe or available.
