Folder secret scanner

Check selected UTF-8 files or a ZIP for common secret patterns in your browser. Findings hide the values. No file is uploaded and no credential is verified with a provider.

Up to 500 files including ZIP entries, 32 MiB selected input and 64 MiB expanded. UTF-8 text up to 2 MiB per file. Binary files and unsupported text encodings are skipped. Nested archives are not expanded. Up to 500 findings are retained.

Review files before sharing a folder
The scanner looks for common API key, token, private-key, password assignment and URL credential patterns. It reports a file, line and pattern name while hiding the matched value. Examples and revoked keys can still match. Secrets with an unfamiliar format may be missed.
Choose only files you intend to review. Unsupported binary files, large text files and non-UTF-8 text are listed as skipped. ZIP extraction uses strict count and expansion limits; encrypted, split and ZIP64 archives are unsupported. A nested archive is not opened.
Act on a finding
Remove the value from the copy you plan to share. If a real credential was already exposed, revoke or rotate it with its provider. This tool never contacts a provider to check a credential.
