Black out names, numbers and emails in a PDF for good. Pages are flattened so hidden text can't be recovered. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Real redaction, not black highlighter

Drawing a black box in most PDF editors only covers the text; it can still be copied or extracted. This tool renders every page as an image, burns the black boxes in, and builds a new PDF from those images. The hidden text, document metadata, comments and form data don't make it into the new file.

How to use it

  1. Open a PDF. It stays in your browser.
  2. Type names or numbers to find, or tick the presets for emails and phone numbers, then press Find and mark.
  3. Drag on any page to cover more. Click × on a box to remove it.
  4. Download the redacted PDF and check it before sharing.

Questions

Why can't I select text in the result?

Because every page is now an image. That's what makes the redaction permanent.

Find and mark found nothing.

Scanned documents are images with no text to search. Draw boxes by hand instead.
