Document-use watermark

Create an image or PDF copy marked with a recipient, purpose and optional date. Files are processed locally. A visible watermark records intended use; it cannot prevent copying or editing.

Up to 16 MiB, 20 PDF pages and 12 million pixels per source page or image. PDF copies are rebuilt as images at up to 4 million pixels per page and 40 million pixels in total, so selectable text and original document features are lost. Images export as PNG. Check legibility before sending.

Make the intended use visible
Add the recipient, purpose and optional date to a document copy before sending it. The repeated visible mark can help a recipient identify the intended use. It cannot stop copying, removal, editing or misuse.
Keep the original and check the copy
PDF pages are rendered and rebuilt as image pages with the mark burned in. Forms, signatures, links, selectable text and original document features are not retained. Image copies are exported as PNG. The original file is unchanged. Check the copy at a readable zoom and make sure the mark does not obscure details the recipient needs.
