Mute private moments in a recording
Listen to the original and enter the start and end of each range to mute. Use playback position to mark a point while listening. Add as many ranges as needed, up to 100, then generate a muted preview and listen through it.
Selected samples become silence. The result is a new 44.1 kHz, 16-bit WAV, with the original duration and mono or stereo channels. The source file’s metadata is not copied. WAV files can be larger than compressed recordings.
Muting does not disguise a voice
Words, background sounds and voices outside the chosen ranges remain audible. Leave enough time around private speech, especially when it overlaps another sound. This tool does not identify speakers or automatically find sensitive words.
